About

Collaborative work toward psychological well-being

Hello, and welcome! Please see the following for information regarding my background, training, clinical experience, and therapeutic approach. I was planted and grown in the Pacific Northwest, moved to PA for graduate school, and eventually settled in NJ. I am thankful to have this opportunity to provide clinical services, and I appreciate the effort you have made to be here. I hold an MA in Psychology from Temple University and a BS in Psychology from the University of Washington. My training is in clinical psychology and neuroscience, and I began providing therapy and neuropsychological assessment services in 2014, working with the Philadelphia community. I have practiced as a clinician for pre-adjudicated and adjudicated youth in Delaware. In Washington, I worked with adults during periods of incarceration. I am licensed in the states of WA and NJ, meaning I can only work with clients located within these state lines. At present, I provide partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program services to those in specialized women's and general adult treatment tracks at Penn Medicine Princeton Health. Much of my clinical practice has aimed to target the following: -Depressive symptoms -Anxiety, panic, fear -Trauma -Anger and aggression -Coping through incarceration -Psychosis -History of self-injury and suicidal behavior -Difficulty managing substance use Treatment offered is informed by the following orientations and approaches: -Cognitive Behavior Therapy -Dialectical Behavior Therapy -Unified Protocol -Supportive Therapy -Trauma-informed care -Cognitive Processing Therapy -Prolonged Exposure Therapy -Motivational Interviewing -Mindfulness practice -Relaxation and biofeedback As a therapist, you can expect that I will be ethical, patient, empathic, present, and accepting. I welcome feedback about the therapeutic process and highly value collaboration. Approaches to counseling will be personalized. I hope to accurately understand perspectives and offer both effective and efficient strategies toward well-being. Secure messaging and file sharing may be a part of our process in addition to live therapy sessions. I look forward to scheduling regular live sessions and also support follow-up sessions as-needed. Frequency of sessions will vary depending on what is needed and available. Weekend availability may be offered on a limited basis. Please message me if you would like to schedule a time outside of what is available via online scheduling. There are many reasons why someone may decide to seek professional help for their mental health, and further endeavors are likely to arise as discussion and insight develop. Through Bright Insight Therapy Services and this healthcare platform, I extend an offer to support you through whatever the journey may bring. Thank you so much. Warm regards, Lauren Uyeji, MA, LMHC / LPC
